I am a woman who tries to be strong,
Who strives to be different and sing her own song.
I am a woman who wants more from life
Than to marry, have children and be someone's wife--
I am a woman who has goals and dreams- I can even be devious and make business schemes.
I am a woman who'll never say can't,
I'll work and I'll struggle, I'll rage and I'll rant!
I am a woman who must do it her way,
No matter the odds or what people say.
I am a woman with one life to live,
With much to receive, but much more to give.
(2)
I am a woman who must seek her path.
To follow it's turns, it's disappointments, it's wrath!
I am a woman who runs her own race,
Regardless of pressures, I'll pick up my pace.
I am woman who must go it alone-
Without the comforts of a man or a home.
I am a woman who cries in the night,
For fear and for loneliness, I've injustices to right.
I am a woman who longs to be free
To soar like a bird and truly be me.
I am a woman who'll stick by her word.
No matter how others may think it absurd.
I am a woman who'll someday find love,
From someone who truly can see what I'm of...
I am a woman who's learned to wait,
To persevere and yet challenge her fate.
I am a woman who has more to learn,
Before I settle down to simmer and burn.
I am a woman who's made out of fire,
Who's quick to temper and slow to tire.
I am a woman who wants just one man,
To marry and cherish and live off the land.
(3)
I am a woman who looks to tomorrow,
With hope and with courage --I've no time for sorrow.
I am a woman with time to be spent.
Some I have borrowed -- others I've lent.
I am a woman who gets just one try.
To be and become or let life slip by.
I am a woman with dreams to fulfill,
With anguish to conquer and anger to kill.
I am a woman with many miles to go
Before I can rest or ever say no.
I am a woman with a place here on earth,
To ponder and question the meaning of my birth.
I am a woman with no time to waste...
I must use my time wisely--not always with haste.
I am a woman with will and with drive.
Who wants to succeed, feel vibrant...alive.
I am a woman with vigor and vivre
A woman of passion, a woman of nerve,
I am a woman in search of her soul...
To make my own being into it's true whole.
I am a woman who knows how to fight.
But often is lonely when sleeping at night.
(4)
I am a woman who will never stop
For anything less than right at the top.
I am a woman who has many a face,
A woman who's learned to put each in it's place.
I am a woman who feels strong and proud,
A woman who wants to break out of the crowd.
I am a woman with guts and with strength.
A woman of love, of warmth and of hate.
I am a woman of worry and fears,
A woman of laughter, a woman of tears.
I am a woman in search of a smile...
While moving along a long painful mile.
I am a woman who hopes for the best...Who shoots for the stars and rides the waves crest.
I am a woman who runs through the trees,
Who stumbles and falls and scrapes both her knees.
I am a woman who's mistakes are my own...
But who's awards they'll applaud and condone.
I am a woman, complex incomplete
Who's struggling to walk and stand on her feet.
I am a woman who'll push on through the night
To make what is wrong into something that's right.
(5)
I am a woman of many places,
A woman of many religions and races.
I am a woman inside of this flesh...
Full of contradictions so difficult to mesh
I am a woman who must walk on tall,
With family and friends to seek out when I'm low.
I am a woman who's had good times and bad-
A woman of laughter and times which were sad.
I am a woman who's seen much of life,
A woman who knows how to cope with the strife.
I am a woman with much yet to do.
A woman who wants for me and for YOU!
Yes, I am a woman and glad I am here,
A woman to reckon with, but never to fear.
I am a woman who wants her fair share.
A woman who'll try her best just to care.
I am a woman who'll succeed in this life,
THEN I'll settle down and be someone's wife.
I am a woman who when I say "I do"
Will want the respect and love that's her due.
Because I am a woman with much life to live--
I have my share to receive but so much more to give.
I am a woman who wants her man,
To love and to cherish her,
To be gentle as he can.
I am a woman who wants love to grow,
To flourish and flower and never let it go.
(6)
I am a woman who wants to create,
A woman who wants to place love where there's hate.
I am a woman who needs to be kissed,
A woman who wants someone loyal who's missed.
I am a woman who needs to share fun,
To go for a meal - to take a long run.
I am a woman who's expectations are high,
I can't settle for less, I'd know it's a lie.
I am a woman in search of my truth,
In search of perfection, my beauty my youth.
I am a woman of no regrets,
A woman of many false worries and frets.
I am a woman who never looks back-
Who's come to the lead from out of the pack
I am a woman who wants to be counted,
Not just as a prize or possession to be touted.
I am a woman with wrongs to right.
With battles to wage and wars to fight.
I am a woman who hungers for more,
I can't see the end or know what's in store.
I am a woman and when my song is sung,
Will have others to join me who've only just begun.
Because I am a woman who's paved her own way.
To find my own happiness each and every day.
I am a woman with luck on my side,
With friends to help me and God as my guide.
For I am a woman who will never give in--
Because I am a woman who's been BORN TO WIN!
